APR Motorsport makes debut in Pirelli World Challenge at Road Atlanta

Words by Elaine Bak – This Friday, September 30, APR Motorsport will be adding a new chapter to their race portfolio by making their debut appearance in the Pirelli World Challenge series in the Cadillac Road Atlanta Grand Prix.

Hopes are high for the APR Motorsport team after driver Ian Baas set the fastest lap time of 1:31.345 (100.104 mph) in the APR Motorsport No. 56 Audi B8 S4 during the morning practice session. The anticipation of racing at APR’s home track filled with Audi race fans and enthusiasts coming out to support Team Joest is only fueling this momentum further.

The Cadillac Road Atlanta Grand Prix will be a completely new experience for the drivers and the team. It is an adrenaline-pumping race of fifty minutes and it does not involve the pit stops and driver changes that the APR Motorsport team is accustomed to doing. Furthermore, during the Cadillac Road Atlanta Grand Prix, three separate classes – GTS, GT, and Touring Car – will be on the track at the same time.

Martini Racing themed VW Scirocco from Krause Tuning

I love twitter because once in a while a tweet catches my eye and I happen to click a link and find something very unexpected and awesome. Tonight was just another case of me paying attention at just the right time. What I was drawn to was a post on Vau-Max.de a German car blog and a post capturing the build of a very clean VW Scirocco from the tuners at Krause Tuning in Germany. I translated the post and found out that the entire build was done in just 3 days! I’ll save you the trouble of translating the article and post up some of the details here.

Five Nordschleife legends to race in Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup

Five big names that have made motorsport history on the Nürburgring will compete in the two races of the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup on the Eifel circuit on 07 and 08 August.

Sabine Schmitz (Germany), Uwe Alzen (Germany), Altfrid Heger (Germany), Olaf Manthey (Germany) and Hans-Joachim Stuck (Austria) have clinched a total of eleven victories in the 24-hour race on the Nordschleife between them. Now the legends of the “Green Hell” are tackling the challenge of competing with the 20 regular drivers of the innovative one-make cup, in which the identical vehicles are powered by bio natural gas and thus achieve an 80-per cent reduction of CO2, on the short version of the Nürburgring.

Waterfest 16 Photo Gallery

Waterfest 16 was held once again at Englishtown Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey this past weekend. I feel sorry for anyone within 10 miles of this place who doesn’t like VWs and Audis because for this one weekend each year, Englishtown and the surrounding communities become the “Mecca” of Audi and VW enthusiasts from around the globe. The local towns of East and North Brunswick are completely overwhelmed by this and it is evident from both traffic and increased activity at every gas station, hotel and restaurant in town. DubWorld.com and QuattroWorld.com had a booth at Waterfest for the first time. We were very excited to meet many of you and cover the show. We are already looking forward to next year!

We will be posting a more complete event wrap up soon but for now I wanted to share our best show photos with you all. Over 300 Photos below for your enjoyment… We invite you to please post up your pics in our Waterfest Forum!

The California Style’d VWs

The California style is often imitated, but never duplicated. People all around the world have been recreating their cars after ours for years. It might be because of our simple approach in adding unique detailed parts to our cars that help us stand out in a sea of mundane cars or maybe its just our laid back attitude. Lets face it, California, especially Southern California, is nothing but highways and by ways, 4 lane roads of heaven; the weather here is great all year round with no hazardous conditions such as sleet Continue reading ‘The California Style’d VWs’
