I love twitter because once in a while a tweet catches my eye and I happen to click a link and find something very unexpected and awesome. Tonight was just another case of me paying attention at just the right time. What I was drawn to was a post on Vau-Max.de a German car blog and a post capturing the build of a very clean VW Scirocco from the tuners at Krause Tuning in Germany. I translated the post and found out that the entire build was done in just 3 days! I’ll save you the trouble of translating the article and post up some of the details here.
Here are some of the details:
- Vehicle type: VW Scirocco 3
- Year: 2009
- Engine: 1.4 liter TSI, chip tuning by MTE to about 190 hp
- Transmission: 6-speed manual transmission
- Brakes: series, brake calipers painted red
- Wheels: 9 x 20 “Corniche” Monza “Rims, Wheels painted black, red rim, inside painted red bed
- Tires: Hankook 235/30 R20
- Suspension: KW Coilovers Variant 2 Inox-Line, lowered by approx 85mm, 65mm rear
- Body: bonnet and rear hatch from VW logo free, mirror, roof and rear diffuser, painted black, body-color trim, decorative stripes in the Martini racing look, rear wiper removed, writing away at the rear, front grille on GTI-Look
- Interior: black headliner and aluminum pedals from the factory, center console painted black, red trim black with red decorative frame, frames and gear
- ICE: VW RNS 510 navigation system
This car makes me really wish VW would bring the Scirocco stateside. Such a clean car with great performance potential! I’ve picked out a few of my favorite images and posted them below. Check out the rest by following the link below to Vau-Max.de!
